Lyrics of Shes Gone

Everybody's high on consolation
Everybody's trying to tell me what's right for me
My daddy tried to bore me with a sermon
but it's plain to see that they can't comfort me
Sorry Charlie for the imposition
I think I've got it, got the strength to carry on
I need a drink and a quick decision
Now it's up to me, ooh what will be

She's Gone Oh I, Oh I'd
better learn how to face it
She's Gone Oh I, Oh I'd
pay the devil to replace her
She's Gone what went wrong

She's Gone Oh eu, Oh, eu
melhor aprender a enfrentá-lo
She's Gone Oh eu, Oh, eu
pagar o diabo para substituí-la
She's Gone o que deu errado

Up in the morning look in the mirror
I'm worn as her tooth brush hanging in the stand
my face ain't looking any younger
now I can see love's taken a toll on me

Até na manhã olhar no espelho
Eu estou vestida como sua escova de dentes pendurada no carrinho
minha cara não está olhando mais jovens
agora eu posso ver o amor tomou um pedágio em mim

Think I'll spend eternity in the city
let the carbon and monoxide choke my thoughts away
and pretty bodies help dissolve the memories
but they can never be what she was to me

Acho que vou passar a eternidade na cidade
deixe o carbono e monóxido de sufocar meus pensamentos
e organismos muito ajudar a dissolver as lembranças
mas nunca pode ser o que era para mim

She's Gone Oh I, Oh I'd
better learn how to face it
She's Gone (she's gone) I can't believe
that She's gone Oh I'd pay the devil
to replace her
She's Gone (she's gone) She's Gone (she's gone) Oh I, She's Gone (she's gone)

She's Gone Oh eu, Oh, eu
melhor aprender a enfrentá-lo
She's Gone (ela foi embora) Eu não posso acreditar
que ela se foi Oh, eu pagaria o diabo
para substituí-la
She's Gone (ela foi), She's Gone (ela foi) Oh, eu, She's Gone (ela foi)

'She's Gone' is a song written and originally performed by pop music duo Daryl Hall and John Oates. It was released as a single in 1974 from their album, 'Abandoned Luncheonette' (1973), and was moderately successful, peaking at #60 on the Billboard Hot 100 Chart.

In 1974, the American R&B band Tavares covered the song for their album, 'Hard Core Poetry'. The song became a hit, topping the U.S. R&B chart and peaking at #50 on the Hot 100. Atlantic Records re-released the original version of a song as a single two years later in 1976, after Hall & Oates had moved to RCA Records and had scored with the hit 'Sara Smile.' This time 'She's Gone' was a hit, peaking at #7 on the Billboard Hot 100. On the R&B chart, the song peaked at #93. Lou Rawls recorded a version for his 1974 album which shares the title of the song.

John Oates spoke of the song in a 2009 interview with American Songwriter: 'I sat down with the guitar and sang the chorus of “She’s Gone” basically the way that it is. Then I played it for Daryl because I didn’t have anything else. It just happened. I said, “Hey, I’ve got this really great chorus.” And we wrote the verses together. “She’s Gone” is a song that endures.'
