Letra Saturday in the Park

Saturday in the park
I think it was the Fourth of July
Saturday in the park
I think it was the Fourth of July
People dancing, people laughing
A man selling ice cream
Singing Italian songs
(Fake Italian lyric)
Can you dig it (yes, I can)
And I've been waiting such a long time
For Saturday

Sábado no parque
Acho que foi o quarto de julho
Sábado no parque
Acho que foi o quarto de julho
As pessoas dançando, pessoas rindo
Um homem que vende sorvetes
Cantando canções italianas
(Fake lírico italiano)
Você pode cavar (sim, eu posso)
E eu tenho esperado tanto tempo
Para sábado

Another day in the park
I think it was the Fourth of July
Another day in the park
I think it was the Fourth of July
People talking, really smiling
A man playing guitar
Singing for us all
Will you help him change the world
Can you dig it (yes, I can)
And I've been waiting such a long time
For today

Outro dia no parque
Acho que foi o quarto de julho
Outro dia no parque
Acho que foi o quarto de julho
Pessoas falando, muito sorridente
Um homem tocando violão
Cantar para todos nós
Você vai ajudá-lo a mudar o mundo
Você pode cavar (sim, eu posso)
E eu tenho esperado tanto tempo
Para hoje

Slow motion riders fly the colors of the day
A bronze man still can tell stories his own way
Listen children all is not lost
All is not lost
Oh no, no

os pilotos voam em câmera lenta as cores do dia
Um homem de bronze ainda pode contar histórias à sua maneira
Ouça as crianças nem tudo está perdido
Tudo não é perdido
Oh não, não

Funny days in the park
Every day's the Fourth of July
Funny days in the park
Every day's the Fourth of July
People reaching, people touching
A real celebration
Waiting for us all
If we want it, really want it
Can you dig it (yes, I can)
And I've been waiting such a long time
For the day

dia engraçado no parque
Todo dia é o quarto de julho
dia engraçado no parque
Todo dia é o quarto de julho
Pessoas chegando, pessoas tocando
Uma verdadeira celebração
À espera de todos nós
Se queremos que ela, realmente quer
Você pode cavar (sim, eu posso)
E eu tenho esperado tanto tempo
Para o dia

'Saturday in the Park' is a song written by Robert Lamm and recorded by the group Chicago for their 1972 album 'Chicago V', with Lamm on piano and lead vocals and Peter Cetera on bass and backing vocals. The single version hit #3 on the Billboard Hot 100, becoming the band's highest-charting single to date and helping lift the album to #1 on the charts. The single was certified Gold by the RIAA. According to fellow Chicago member Walter Parazaider, Lamm was inspired to write the song during the recording of 'V' in New York City on July 4, 1971: :'Robert came back to the hotel from Central Park very excited after seeing the steel drum players, singers, dancers, and jugglers. I said, 'Man, it's time to put music to this!' The line 'singing Italian songs' is followed by Italian-sounding nonsense words, rendered in the printed lyrics as '?'. Piano/guitar/vocal sheet music arrangements have often read 'improvised Italian lyrics' in parentheses after this line.

'Saturday in the Park' has also been used in a popular commercial in Japan, advertising a marketing campaign known as 'Parkhouse' The song is played at Wrigley Field during Chicago Cubs home games on Saturday afternoons, and at Yankee Stadium before New York Yankees home games.
